Identity certification
Introduction
This schedule sets out the scope of services we will provide.
The purpose of this schedule is to clearly define what is and is not included in the scope of our work.
This schedule should be read in conjunction with our engagement letter and our standard terms of business.
Included work
As part of our agreed services, we will:
- Review your original identity documents in person and confirm their authenticity
- Certify copies of the relevant documents with our professional stamp, signature, and contact details
- Confirm our capacity as a qualified accountant to certify documents where required by the requesting party
- Provide certified copies in the format required by the requesting organisation (e.g. lender, solicitor, financial institution)
Please note: this list is not exhaustive. Any work not specifically listed under "Included work" is deemed outside the scope of this engagement unless we have expressly agreed otherwise in writing.
Where additional work is required, we will advise you of the scope, our proposed fee, and obtain your agreement before proceeding.
Excluded work
The following work is outside the scope of this service unless separately agreed in writing:
- Verification or authentication of documents beyond confirming that copies are true copies of the originals presented to us
- Legal advice or opinions on the suitability of documents for any specific purpose
- Liaison with third parties such as lenders, solicitors, or financial institutions on your behalf
- Translation of documents not in the English language
- Certification of documents not presented to us in person with the original
Please note: this list is not exhaustive. Any work not specifically listed under "Included work" is deemed outside the scope of this engagement unless we have expressly agreed otherwise in writing.
Where additional work is required, we will advise you of the scope, our proposed fee, and obtain your agreement before proceeding.
Your responsibilities
You agree to:
- Present original documents to us in person for inspection prior to certification
- Ensure the documents you present are genuine, valid, and not expired
- Provide us with details of the requesting organisation and any specific requirements they have for the certification
- Inform us of the purpose for which the certified documents will be used
Our responsibilities
We agree to:
- Review original documents carefully and certify copies with reasonable care and skill
- Confirm our professional standing to the requesting party where required
- Handle your documents and personal information with strict confidentiality and in compliance with data protection laws
- Complete the certification promptly and keep you informed of any issues that may affect our ability to certify the documents requested
Please note: our certification confirms only that a copy is a true copy of the original document presented to us. It does not constitute verification of the authenticity of the original document itself, and we accept no liability for documents that are subsequently found to be fraudulent or invalid.
