We first contacted Wood Hicks & Co in connection with accounting required for a new Management Company formed in 2003, subsequent to the purchase of a small block of flats by way of leaseholder enfranchisement. Wood Hicks provided an excellent service for us as new freeholders, sorting out historic service charge issues, ground rents etc in a most efficient and friendly manner which made the entire matter easy for us.
– JT and LR, Gosport
Wood Hicks & Co have looked after my personal tax affairs for a number of years and arrange an annual return in a way that is detailed but easy to understand, they provide an excellent and personal service. I have always found that all staff from reception and throughout Wood Hicks to be very friendly and efficient and a pleasure to deal with.
– Linda, Gosport
Wood Hicks and Co advised us in 2015 in the formation of a new Company. Their help with Company formation, VAT registration and numerous issues was invaluable in ensuring that our Company quickly became established on a secure and profitable footing. Their help and support has continued ever since.
– API Ltd, Gosport
We changed from a London firm of accountants to Wood Hicks & Co in 2008. They provided an excellent service in connection with the Company accounts both then and continuing to the present, at a fraction of London prices. They have given invaluable assistance when the Company took on debts in excess of £3.6m and have provided a first class professional service where annual accounts are required for submission to The States of Jersey in addition to HMRC in the UK.
– Brent Street Properties Limited, Gosport
Since 2007 Wood Hicks & Co have provided a brilliant personal tax service to me, not only looking after salary issues, but also taxation in respect of personally held investment properties, both residential and commercial. They have given a wealth of advice and help exactly when needed. All of the directors and staff display a friendly and cheerful disposition backed up by knowledge and professionalism.
– John, Alverstoke

Protection against fees for tax investigations & complimentary legal advice
HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC) continue to receive substantial resources from the government to tackle tax evasion and avoidance, collecting unprecedented amounts of information for analysis to target taxpayers where HMRC considers a risk exists that the right amount of tax has not been paid.
HMRC also enquire at random, so you can be selected even if there is no hint of wrongdoing in any way. Once a taxpayer is selected for enquiry, the requests for information and supporting documentation are not only intrusive, time-consuming and tiresome to prepare for, but are also often of a technical nature.
As a result, representation by a tax professional is usually necessary such that it is quite common for tax enquiries to cost a lot to resolve. You will usually have to bear these costs whether or not HMRC finds extra tax to pay.
We offer a Tax Investigation Service in partnership with a leading insurer which protects you against the cost of representation against HMRC. This gives you peace of mind and safeguards you against unnecessary stress and additional fees.
As part of the service you will also have access to expert telephone-based advice lines on complex areas of employment law, health and safety, and legal matters in addition to a web-based toolkit for human resources. These services are provided by top law firm to ensure you are given the expert advice you require.
We also offer a raft of other services depending on your needs such as:
- Company formation
- Registered office address
- Document certification & ID checks
- References for mortgages and other lending
- Independent examinations
- Solicitors Regulation Authority report
- Council for Licensed Conveyancers report
- Propertymark report
